LOS ANGELES – August 13, 2021 – Scalefast, a Los Angeles-based digital commerce solution that is simplifying direct-to-consumer (DTC) eCommerce, today disclosed its successful completion of the Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2®) Type 1 audit.
SOC for Service Organizations are internal audits and reports analyzing the security of services provided by companies, like Scalefast, and offer valuable information to current and prospective users that can be used to assess any potential risks of outsourced service.
The SOC 2 report offers detailed information about how Scalefast handles security, availability, and processing of user data and confidentiality and privacy of the information being used. The report is especially helpful in giving clients and potential clients a view of:
- Oversight of organization practices
- Vendor management practices
- Internal corporate governance and risk management
- Regulatory oversight
“Scalefast has always been committed to data security and the quality and integrity of our service offerings. The SOC 2 assessment gave us the opportunity to have an outside party review the work we have already put in place, and was an important endeavor for our team. We are proud to have completed the assessment, and are dedicated to the quality and security of our work” – David Masson, Chief Legal Officer, Scalefast.
An AICPA survey found that increasing awareness of the importance of IT security at third parties has led to a significant increase (almost 50%) in the demand for SOC 2® engagements. Organizations value SOC 2 engagements as part of their third-party risk management efforts. For the full survey results, visit AICPA.
